The short version: this site edits your HPD-20 backups inside your own browser. Your backup files are never uploaded, and the site doesn't ask for or keep any personal information.

Your backup files

When you open a backup, your browser reads the file directly from your computer and does all the editing itself. The file isn't sent to this website or anyone else. When you click Download, the edited file is created in your browser and saved straight to your computer.

Your HPD-20 (Live tab)

The Live tab uses your browser's Web MIDI feature to talk to an HPD-20 connected to your computer by USB. Your browser asks your permission first. The MIDI messages (pad hits, kit changes and so on) go only between your browser and your HPD-20; they aren't sent to this website.

What's stored in your browser

To remember a few preferences between visits, the site saves small settings in your browser's local storage:

These stay on your computer and are never sent anywhere. You can remove them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Web hosting

Like almost every website, the server that hosts these pages may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of a request) for security and to keep the site running. [Hosting provider] may keep these logs for [period]. They're not used to identify you.

Advertising and analytics

[Choose one before publishing:]

If there are no ads or analytics: This site has no advertising, analytics or tracking.

If you add ads or analytics: This site shows ads from [ad network] [and uses [analytics provider] to count visits]. These providers may use cookies or similar technology to show ads and measure their performance, and may collect information such as your IP address and the pages you visit. Their use of that information is covered by their own privacy policies: [link to the provider's policy]. Where required, you'll be asked for consent before these cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time [via the cookie settings link at the bottom of the page].

Links to other sites

Some links, such as gear recommendations or a tip jar, may go to other websites [and may be affiliate links, which means this site may earn a small commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you]. Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Children

This site isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
